Chichicastenango Market Day Photographs

Chichicastenango, Guatemala is known for it's large market held on Thursdays and Sundays. It is one of the largest markets in the country, and indigenous people come from all over to sell their crafts, foods, fruits, and vegetables. Chichi is about a 2 hour ride from Antigua. All over Antigua travel agencies offer shuttles to Chichi for about $10 round trip. It is definitely worth checking out to see the various Mayan costumes and cultures from Guatemala, and to buy authentic souvenirs. (Photograph of a hippie rv/camper driving through Guatemala.)

(A little girl in Guatemala was selling her chickens and Turkeys in the street in the Chichicastenango market. These chickens and turkeys were hanging there heads out of bags and baskets. She wanted 5 quetzales for a bird....which is about 80 cents USD)
