This photo shows the destruction of mining and building roads in the Andes mountains. The roads go to the amazon jungle, so that loggers and oil trucks can pass through. Ecuador.

These are my friends from Friends World/ Global College on the river boat in the Amazon Rainforest, Ecuador.

This is a view of the river from our boat. The traditional indigenous boats are dug out canoes.

There have been modification on these boats from the original dug-out canoes. Now they drive motor boats to haul tourists around the river. Amazon Rainforest, Ecuador.

This is my cabin in the jungle. It had running water, but no electricity. The indigenous do not have access to electricity so far into the jungle, Amazon Rainforest, Ecuador.

The Amazon Rainforest, Ecaudor

In Ecuador I spent a few days living with an indigenous tribe in the Amazon Rainforest. Here we participated in their daily lives, eating the same food, doing the same activities, swimming in the river.

The Virgin of Quito sits atop El Panecillo in Quito, Ecuador. You can overlook the entire city from the summit. The virgin statue is built over an ancient indigenous archaeological site.

Quito, Ecuador

I spent my time in Quito, Ecuador in the International Youth Hostel. This is in the heart of the city for tourists and tourism. The locals call it Gringolandia because of the mass amounts of tourists. There are restaurants and food from every corner of the world here. There are also lots of fun littles bars and cafes. It is kind of expensive and I could not find an Ecuadorian restaurant anywhere in this neighborhood.
