These are more photographs of the Hassan II Mosque in Morocco. I visited this mosque on my last day in Morocco, and watched the sun set over the ocean there. It was a nice goodbye to that country.

These are photos of the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. This is a newly built mosque that is constructed over the ocean. Inside, the floor is made of glass so you can see the ocean while you are praying. Unfortunately I did not have the chance to go inside. Foreigners and non-Muslims can only go in the mosque on a tour. It is the largest mosque in Morocco, and the third largest mosque in the world, after the mosques in Mecca and Medina.

Photo of a girl as Hassan II mosque. The mosque looked like a meeting place for many young people. Even couples seemed to be waiting for the lovers to meet them at the mosque. I guess since this is a pious Muslim country, teenagers tell their parents they are going to mosque, when they are really going to meet their boyfriends or girlfriends.

I love riding trains because you get to see so much of the countryside, that normally would be inaccessible. These are pictures of tribal communities in the Sahara desert in Morocco, sheep herders in Morocco, and sheep in the desert.

Archaeology in Morocco. The architecture of Morocco is so interesting because people are living in houses that were built centuries ago. You can tell the the structures were just built over each other. In many neighborhoods there are not even maps because the streets are just twisting mazes between the houses. It was fun getting lost in these alleys, and meeting people in the neighborhoods.

Photo of a minaret at a mosque in Marrakesh. Minarets are an architectural structure common in Muslim Mosques. In modern day mosques there are usually speaker attached to the top which blast out the call to pray so people can hear it throughout the city and know when to pray.

Photo of Rick's Cafe in Casablanca. I watched the movie Casablanca before I went to Morocco. The whole movie took place in Rick's Cafe, and when I was there I went on a mission to find it. This is not the actual Rick's Cafe (I think that is actually a fictitious place), but this place was built for tourists to visit.

Photo of women at a olive market in Morocco. I love taking pictures at markets. There is always so much action and so many bright colors to capture. I like the contrast of this photo, with the women wearing dark colors, looking at the bright olives. Morocco is known for growing olives, and since olives are one of my favorite foods, it was like heaven there.
