Here are more photographs from my time in Koh Chang, Bang Bao, Thailand. For more about my travels in Thailand visit my blog at www.ladythetramp.com . Some of these photographs were taken on the pier of Bang Bao during my snorkeling trip, and some were taken from my hotel, which was on a pier.

(Front of a Thai fishing boat. I am assuming these decorations are to protect the boat from spirits and other mishaps. Thai has a significant culture surrounding spirits, especially water spirits. )

Photos of Bang Bao Ko Chang Thailand

These are photographs of Bang Bao on Ko Chang, Thailand. Bang Bao is a small fishing village on the southern tip of Koh Chang. The village is situated along a pier and has lots of seafood restaurants and kitchy shops. The village is still relatively Thai, and hasn't been completely overrun by farang tourists. There are still lots of Thai tourists that come here for holiday.

Photos of Flores, Guatemala

Flores is one of the closest towns to the Mayan ruins of Tikal in Guatemala. If you want to visit Tikal this is a good place to leave from. There are many agencies that can arrange for a taxi to drive you to the park. Flores is a really beautiful little town. It is on a sort of island in the middle of a huge lake. There are lots of cheap hotels and backpacker hostels here. It is a nice place to chill out and go swimming for a few days. Photo of Spanish colonial architecture in Flores, Guatemala. The government has cleaned up the city of Flores and instigated many regulations on the facade of houses and businesses here. Most of the buidlings are brightly colored like this one.

Photo of a gun sign in Flores, Guatemala. These signs can be seen in a lot of establishments through Guatemala. It says, "Entrance of guns prohibited." Sometimes people who are carrying guns will enter these places and unload all of their guns at the door. Scary.

Mayan People, indigenous crafts Guatemala

Here area more photographs from Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala. In this indigenous community in the mountains there are many people who still make and sell traditional crafts. In this region of Guatemala there is the highest population per capita of indigenous people. In Santiago the men still wear their traditional Mayan clothing, a rarity in other parts of Guatemala.

Playa Uvita and Waterfalls, Costa Rica

Playa Uvita is just south of Dominical. Only local people go to this beach. There is a large national park and a beautiful beach. There is a waterfall nearby run by germans. It is a great place to swim where you can jump off the falls into the water.

Panama Canal Photo Blog

These are my photos from my trip to the Panama Canal in Panama City. I went to the Mira Flores Locks to watch the boats and ships pass through the locks. It is really interesting to watch how the locks work. Water is slowly let out of one side, into the other side of the lock, taking the ship down to the level of the other lock. The sea level on either side of the Canal is different because it is placed in the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. For more details about my trip visit my blog at : Wanderjahr Jill Travel Blog
